There has been a claim on social media that Italian boxer Ângela Carini was 'beaten by a man' during a women's boxing match at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The post refers to Carini's fight with boxer Imane Khelif, from Algeria, who users claimed is a trans woman. The Italian withdrew from the match after 46 seconds on August 1st. The post also claims that many female athletes around the world are 'forced to compete against trans men in the name of “diversity and inclusion”.’ This is false.
