The president of the Superior Electoral Court (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral – TSE), Justice Alexandre de Moraes, said this Tuesday (21) that the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and social media must be regulated urgently and at the international level, because they not only undermine the confidence in democracy but also interfere with the outcome of elections.
He made the statement during the opening speech for the International Seminar on Artificial Intelligence, Democracy and Elections, organized in Brasília (DF) by the TSE and the School of Communication, Media and Information at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV Comunicação), with the support of the Delegation of the European Union in Brazil and the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Federação Brasileira de Bancos – Febraban).
