Moraes says big techs cannot be ‘no man’s land’ and asks UN for Declaration of Digital Rights

The president of the Superior Electoral Court (Tribunal Superior Eleitoral – TSE), Justice Alexandre de Moraes, said this Tuesday (21) that the United Nations (UN) must lead an effort to develop a Universal Declaration of Digital Rights in order to protect democracy.

In an opening speech for a TSE seminar on artificial intelligence in the elections, Moraes argued for the development of a text similar to the existing Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is the basis for fundamental rights in countries around the world and has become one of the pillars of modern society.
