The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, spoke about the challenges of digitalization for democratic societies, at the FGV School of Communication, Media, and Information (FGV ECMI) and the FGV School of Law of São Paulo’s (FGV Direito SP) event, held on June 6, at 9 am, in São Paulo, at the FGV Auditorium. The Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Margrethe Vestager, also attended the event.
The debate “Democracy and Digitization: Challenges of the Digital Age” was held with the support of the German Embassy and the Delegation of the European Union in Brazil and had other international guests. In the first part, Hubertus Heil, the Federal Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of Germany, and Ignacio Ybáñez, Ambassador of the European Union to Brazil, completed the panel. Watch it here.
The second part of the event, held online and moderated by Amaro Grassi, project coordinator at FGV ECMI, counted with the presence of Margrethe Vestager, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Michael Meyer-Resende, director of Democracy Reporting International, and Estela Aranha, special advisor to the Ministry of Justice for Digital Rights.
